Welcome to BeLL works！

This site is to take over the activities of Globe International Teachers Circle(GITC), which ceased its operations at the end of February, 2004.

On this site, you are invited to explore GITC's thematic English teaching materials.They are all content-based and focus on global issues.

I am Junko Machida, one of the GITC staff members who spent more than a decade creating these materials, and I have decided to keep on promoting the thematic English education. I named this site "BeLL works", because I hope this site will encourage better language learning for students and help them to be lifelong learnenrs, as I myself want to be.

What you can do at BeLL works:

You can purchase the GITC's bilingual thematic units and other Japanese books on English education through global issues. Please see the list.

You can ask me any questions about the teaching materials provided here. Please use the e-mail address

10% of the list price of the thematic units will be contributed to a project that is supporting the education of Afghan refugee children -- so by using these materials you are helping these young people have educational opportunities.

I hold workshops to explore how to integrate thematic English learning into elementary schools and how to make thematic teaching materials together with teachers and teacher trainees in a relaxed environment.
